HBD! to the best mommy.

If you have ever met my mommy, you would agree, she is the best there is!
Of course, I am partial that she is THE best, but that is in part due to the fact she carried me very graciously in her womb for 9 months, and shared her Mother's Day with me when I decided to take the center spot light, and come into this world.
I feel it necessary to celebrate ... well, everything ... but especially her birthday, because birthday's should be special, and she is special, so it just make's sense!! duh!
She is beautiful and caring, and has alway been my #1 fan, even when if feels like everyone else is looking at you funny.  She never misses a thing, and in fact, I think she has at times, spread herself so thin, I never quite knew how she was going to survive.
So since her birthday was actually on Memorial Day this year, we threw one big cook-out!
I LOVE YOU MOMMY!! ALWAYS WILL!

Take away point: Do not forget birthdays, especially not your mommy's!

cruiser bike=best thing ever.

In my personal list of 'best things ever' this one hits right at the top.  Seriously. Best investment one could make.   My husband and I recently got these bikes for our birthday's and are madly in love (with the bikes ;) ).  Trek has completely outdone themselves with these, and a shout out to our local bike store North Country Cycle Sport and their great staff who have helped us, and more recently, even added a basket to mine!
Trek's website says 'the good life. bike style.' so true! Biking really is the good life...doesn't matter what kind or style.  Taking your bike to the farmer's market, grocery store, for exercise, to work, or for sight seeing the city; you can't beat the open air feel that you get from being on a bike!
...ok, I think you get my point.
If you are looking for an investment...INVEST IN A BIKE! You will definitely get your $$'s worth, and they never go out of style* :)
*important*

sore tush Monday.

This weekend we rode in the Zoo-de-Mack 50 mile bike ride from Boyne Highlands to Mackinaw City.  What a trip! Weather was a whopping 80+ degrees and not a cloud in the sky! Not only is my butt sore (I don't know what a hemorrhoid feels like, but I feel like I have one) my sunburn is reminding me I should have found some shade, post-ride.
My family is the best, and showed great attendance for the ride, as well as two of our best-est friends from Wisconsin- Tim & Katie.

While I thought I had prepared enough for this ride, my behind is telling me otherwise... and my running shoes will be set aside for awhile as my hubs and I MUST prepare better for our next long ride coming up on June 9th
Our ride ended with great camaraderie and brews (like every good race should), and a trip to Mackinaw Island.  Our friends (and my hubs) have never been to the Island, so I played 'fudgie' along with them, and we had a great time:)
['fudgie' is a term we (locals) give those who are tourists in the Mackinaw areas, because they buy the one entity in surplus... FUDGE!]

Happy Monday to everyone, and hopefully you don't have a sore buttock! ;)

Lessons learned: proper training is never overrated; no matter how much work/planning/hectic-ness surrounds an event..you can't beat quality friend/family time

in the beginning.

The idea of blogging is one that i have tossed around... and around... and around. Finally I have landed the idea, and procrastination has ended! (How great of a feeling is that?!)  There are a few reasons I wanted to take this venture... Like many others, I feel my opinions and views are AWESOME and I think it is necessary for them to be shared!  I have a lot of passions, interests, loves, and hobbies, as well as one hell of an education ...thereby I feel I'm entitled to blog :)
I am a practicing Chiropractor, a loving wife, devoted family member (soon-to-be Aunt), and an avid proponent of increasing every American-being's fitness level.  My husband and I find every reason possible to stay physically fit (side note: surprisingly, 'body image' stays low on the list because that alone as a priority makes things not fun... and we love fun!).
I hope my blogging brings multitudes of emotions to you, and I hope I can teach you, or enlighten your day, in some way...
